I grew up in Bryn Mawr, Pa., a suburb of Philadelphia. My Mom came from many generations of Quakers and Episcopalians in Philadelphia. My Dad was a Hungarian Jewish Holocaust Survivor. Both parents were active in our local Episcopal Church, and I enjoyed Church as a child and teenager. And, I didn’t know skipping Church was a viable option till I got to College and realized I could sleep in. Wow!
Prior to becoming a priest, I worked with refugees in Sudan and Thailand; taught at a public high school in New Jersey; and taught at a private school in Bogota, Colombia.
I have served the Episcopal Church as a priest for the past 29 years in the suburbs of Washington D.C.; the suburbs and City of Philadelphia; and for the past three years here in Denver and the surrounding communities.
On March 1, 2024, St. Martin’s called me to be their Rector (Senior Pastor,) and I feel truly blessed to be here.
Sara Barton, a third generation Coloradan, and I have been happily married for the past 35 years, and we have two adult children who both live in Denver which has been lots of fun.
I love the Episcopal Church. I love my Jewish heritage.
I Love God. I Love People.
I Love Stories, fiction and nonfiction. And, I Love Adventures.
I love all racket sports.
I have always loved the mountains here and around the world,
